As Miller Leith’s Queensland Director, Jordana is leading the charge not just in business growth, but in raising the bar for what great recruitment really looks like. In mid-2023, she opened our Queensland office with one clear goal: to build something meaningful for clients, candidates, and her team.
“I wanted to establish and grow by servicing our clients and candidates in the right way, that is honest, consultative and hard working.”
Jordana’s approach is grounded in experience, not just professional, but deeply personal.
“Years ago, when I was a young university grad in the UK, I had a really poor experience with a recruiter. I vowed then and there to always do what’s right, even if that means having tough conversations.”
That commitment still drives her today, and it shows in every interaction she has.
Real Connection in a Disconnected World
Recently, Jordana hosted our first ‘Chill and Fill’ event, an informal get-together for HR and Talent Acquisition professionals across Brisbane. With no agenda, no pitches, and no PowerPoint slides, the event was simply about connection.
“I’d been working closely with a number of like-minded professionals who share the same passion and drive for what they do. I was keen to bring people together to share experiences and just have some fun.”
The feedback? Overwhelmingly positive.
“Everyone walked away saying how much they appreciated it, they could see there was no catch, just community.”
Plans are already underway to bring it back as an annual event.
Then there was the recent trip she and Kaz Daghistani, Principal Consultant – Manufacturing & Technical, made to Bindaree, a valued client.
“We’ve become a close partner with Rowen Winsor and her team. I didn’t just want to sit behind a desk, I wanted to see the culture, meet the team, really get them. After that visit, we walked away even more aligned with how Bindaree operates across values, culture, and fit.”
These aren’t just good stories. They’re proof of what makes Jordana’s approach different. It’s about showing up. It’s about being human.
Walking the Talk on Candidate Care
If you’ve worked with Jordana before, there’s a good chance you’ve heard the title “Candidate Care Queen” floating around, and it’s one she’s proudly worn for over 15 years.
So what does great candidate (and client) care actually look like to her?
“Do what you say you will do. Communicate properly. Pick up the phone. Don’t just send a text or email when a conversation would be more meaningful. Feedback and follow-up are everything. I hate that our industry has a reputation for ghosting, I want to challenge that.”
This high standard carries through every step of the recruitment process. Jordana doesn’t just help clients and candidates move quickly, she holds them accountable to each other.
“Blocking out time, locking in interviews, creating structure, all of that ensures we’re not letting great people slip through the cracks.”
What’s Next for Queensland?
It’s no surprise that with this kind of leadership, things are on the up in Queensland.
“The market’s picking up in a really healthy way. It’s not just backfilling roles anymore, businesses are hiring to build capability for the future.”
She’s also seeing a shift in what candidates want.
“It’s not just about the highest package anymore. People want meaning. They want the right role in the right place.”
And with growth comes exciting news:
“Watch this space… our team is growing, and with a great start to the year, we’re excited to see what the rest of 2026 brings.”
Our Queensland team is also gearing up for another event, the Future of Manufacturing roundtable, bringing industry leaders together to shape what’s next.
A Human-Centred Future for Recruitment
In an industry often driven by transactions and targets, Jordana reminds us of what recruitment should be, relational, not transactional. Human, not robotic. Transparent, not performative.
Jordana’s not just building teams for other businesses, she’s building a culture here in Queensland that reflects everything Miller Leith stands for. And in doing so, she’s showing that even in a fast-paced, tech-driven world, genuine care still wins.
As we look ahead to a new chapter of growth in Queensland, one thing’s clear: with Jordana at the helm, we’re in very good hands.
