Category & Insights Analyst


A brand-new Category & Insights Analyst role for a leading FMCG brand, to support strategic development, innovation and growth.

The Company
Good Food Partners, part of The Arnotts Group is Australia's largest producer of branded and private label muesli and better-for-you snack bars in Australia. Through continual growth, they are looking to appoint an innovative and data-driven, Category & Insights Analyst to join the wider commercial team.


The role
Reporting to the GM of Innovation & Growth, the Category & Insights Analyst will be a key contributor to development of strategic owned brand plans, high profile marketing programmes and product innovation. Playing a pivotal supporting role to all key departments, the Category & Insights Analyst will be tasked with identifying growth and development opportunities across Australia for the GFP's brands through:
  • Analysing market, competitor, segment and SKU data to generate category and trade opportunities, both proactively and in the lead up to range reviews
  • Engaging with key external shopper research and insights providers
  • Creating meaningful insights by deep diving into customer, shopper and consumer data from all available sources
  • Evaluation of promotion and pricing optimisation strategies of the portfolio
  • Supporting NPD and Innovation plans to promote growth across the business
  • Sales and Forecast support; maintaining, measuring and monitoring Sales team requirements including but not limited to assortment management, product hierarchy, distribution priorities, product lifecycle management and preferred layouts and supporting insights.
 
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 4 years+ prior experience working with customer and category insights - combined with a strong understanding of the FMCG industry, having come from a similar role within a category, account management and/or shopper marketing environment. 
You will also possess a proactive approach to analysing data and presenting opportunities to internal stakeholders, high attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy of reporting with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
