Senior Management Position in FMCG based in Regional Victoria. Change Management Focus.
An FMCG organisation that has and continues to undergo significant growth due to the execution of a clear manufacturing strategy. Well known for traditional household brands and supportive culture, they offer stability, challenge and long-term career development. One of the organisation's business critical sites in Northern Victoria is currently in need of a highly experienced Manufacturing Manager to drive a significant change program and ensure the site's ongoing success. The major objective of the Manufacturing Manager is to be an all-encompassing manufacturing leader, with a focus on staff engagement and development, business performance, efficiency, KPI’s, quality, safety and improving site processes.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Manufacturing Manager’s core responsibilities will include driving manufacturing strategy, standards and processes, increasing capability, productivity, visibility and product quality. The Manufacturing Manager will lead beyond just the production floor, with both the site formulations team and inbound/outbound logistics teams reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. This responsibility of managing multiple functions makes it critical that the Manufacturing Manager brings strong business acumen to the role. With the support of an extensive continuous improvement plan, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the bottom line through change management.
The ideal leader will bring a high level of personal skills, with a proven ability to coach, mentor and engage all relevant stakeholders across the site and business. The successful candidate will be able to promote good behaviours and performance management when needed in a factual and fair manner. As a person, it is essential that the Manufacturing Manager has the ability to think in a high level and strategic manner, have the forward planning and continuous improvement skills, while also remaining calm under pressure and bringing a solution based mindset to their role.
The Manufacturing Manager will have the support of a highly technical team from a product perspective, however, they will be required to bring high-level technical manufacturing expertise, including a strong track record of delivering high Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of all operational functions including Quality, Production, Engineering/Maintenance, Employee Relations and OHS requirements. This broader skillset will be critical in the success of the Manufacturing Manager.
Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualified in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline, the successful candidate will possess a proven track record in leadership preferably from the FMCG food industry. With significant exposure to continuous improvement you have spent much of your career within a high volume, customer-focused manufacturing environment and have proven leadership capability with the passion and energy to drive culture and change.
