Production Manager

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join this rapidly growing Asian food manufacturing market leader.

The Company
A family owned food manufacturing company centrally located near Melbourne's CBD specialising in quality Asian cuisines for the retail industry. 

The Role
Reporting into the Managing Director, we are seeking to appoint a hands-on Production Manager to be located at the Richmond manufacturing site. You will be an integral member of the site leadership team responsible for providing leadership and direction to implement processes and procedures as the site continues its journey to achieve world class manufacturing standards. 
The Production Manager will be required to bring technical and analytical expertise combined with strong organisational skills and an engaging approach to team development to drive improvement of KPI's.  Demonstrating a wide understanding of operational functions including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), safety, quality, production and inventory control, labour management and team training and development, will not only allow you to succeed in this role, but potentially progress further within the organisation as it grows.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or related food /beverage industry discipline and worked in a similar role within an FMCG manufacturing environment. The ability to demonstrate an uncompromising approach to safety and quality is critical to lead the production team's capability and performance to produce food safely and timely for consumers.  Additional selection criteria includes:

  • First rate planning and organisational skills - effective use of your time plus pride in delivering.

  • Sound judgment and decision making ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to train and drive a strong Safety culture.
  • Experience working across high-care foods, cooking processes, frozen foods, and across all areas of automation in a food manufacturing plant.
