Associate Director - Marketing & Digital

Born in Johannesburg, lived in Cape Town and a proud African-Australian, Leigh has resided in Sydney for thirteen years, after a 2-year adventure turned into the beginning of a life in Australia.

With an extensive background in Marketing and Advertising in South Africa, she has held roles such as Head of Marketing as well as GM of a Digital Agency startup.

Leigh landed in recruitment when she moved to Australia –  beginning her career in a boutique executive search firm, before starting up her own recruitment businesses, later leading a digital function and team at a large multinational. And more recently joining the Miller Leith family.

Her genuine love of Digital and Marketing is due to the dynamic, ever changing nature of the industry. With our entire existence now so digitally driven, Leigh likes to be at the forefront, cutting edge of it. She enjoys gaining insights into different businesses and putting game-changing people into them.

Having been in this market for 13 years, Leigh has extensive networks and a good track record of building teams. She will continue to grow the Digital and Marketing function at Miller Leith across both Sydney and Melbourne,  in order to our offer clients access to the best talent in those areas.

What’s really important to you?

My family is the most important thing in my life. My friends, here and in other cities around the world.

Africa is also important to me. It is where my soul lives. I am a true Scatterling.

Wine. Wine is important.

What is something quirky about you?

My daughters say if I was a ‘real housewife’ I would be Dorinda from Real Housewives of New York, because I like to “make everything nice”. I’m that person. I’ll spend hours doing the house up at Halloween or Christmas, or planning parties for my daughters or baking extravagant cakes or wrapping gifts very particularly.

What motivates you about the recruitment industry?

Being part of the digital & marketing community, and finding talent that helps businesses to stay on the cutting edge. I love counselling people making career changes and being a sounding board for clients on their talent and business issues. Because of my background I get inspired by the strategic discussions we get to have with clients and candidates.

I also have a particular passion for helping Gen X-ers make career transitions and pivots.

How would your team mates describe you?

Energetic, social, great sense of humour. Speaks the truth.
