Master Planner

Exciting opportunity to lead the production and materials planning function for this market leader in the Retail and Pharmaceutical space

The Organisation
Based in the South-Eastern suburbs, this Australian manufacturing organisation boasts trusted household brands in both the retail and pharmaceutical sectors. They are passionate about creating innovative well-being
products for families. They are currently searching for an experienced and passionate Master Planner to lead the planning team supporting both in-house and 3 rd party manufacturing plants.

The Role
The Master Planner will be responsible for leading a small team of planners to ensure finished goods are produced on time, in full, and at the lowest cost. This includes creating and delivering accurate and timely short, mid, and long-term production plans, inventory/material plans and completing all purchasing of materials in order to fill 100% of customer orders, align with demand plans and ensure inventory holding policies/safety stock levels are maintained.

You will complete all production plans including Master Schedule/RCCP and Production Schedules across the internal manufacturing plant and 3 rd Party manufacturers, based on sales forecasts, NPD volumes and capacity
constraints. Your major objective will be to ensure required levels of raw material are available, and optimised master and finite plans are completed in order to meet market demand with exceptional customer service

Your team will be responsible for inventory planning and purchasing to ensuring inventory policies/safety stock levels are maintained, overall working capital is minimised, whilst providing 100% supply to
manufacturing sites. Your team will also be responsible for master data maintenance including Material Master, BOM’s, Routes, etc. to ensure accurate data and parameters are set to automate as much analysis as possible and minimise the risk of human error.

The Master Planner will grow the capability of the planning and purchasing team through ongoing training and development. You will also be responsible for developing key operating relationships and be in constant communication with production, sales, suppliers, quality assurance, NPD and Finance to ensure all planning critical information is free-flowing between planning and all related functions.

You will be required to and assist, collaborate and problem-solve when faced with unexpected volatility
including changing forecasts, unexpected customer orders, quality issues, material supply issues or production

Skills and Experience
  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, business, Finance, Engineering or similar.
  • Extensive experience across Master Planning leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Materials planning, inventory management, purchasing, supplier management, master scheduling,
  • finite scheduling.
  • Track record as a key player in an S&OP process
  • Experience partnering with 3 rd party/contract manufacturers
  • Strong analytical power and experience across using excel, ERP and supporting systems (SAP, AX, JDE or similar preferred) are highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, have the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Passion for Continuous Improvement and excellence in their work
